First on the agenda was the Treasurers Report. We have a total of $18,597.48 cash on hand. In addition to our two regular note payments on the clubhouse of $3,500.00 each, we were able to pay $10,000.00 on the principal from our golf bash income. Our total principal balance now owing on the clubhouse is $8,435.66. Glen Love made a motion to accept the Treasurers Report. Darrell Looper seconded. Motion passed.
There was much discussion about raising membership dues, cart shed rentals and green fees in order to fund needed projects for the improvement of our golf course. Bill Greenfield made a motion to raise all memberships $100.00; raise cart shed rentals $50.00 and raise green fees to $15.00. Bob Downing seconded. Motion passed. This would make the total membership fees, cart shed rentals and green fees due in January, 2006, as follows:
Family Membership $ 400.00
Senior Family Membership $ 350.00
Single Membership $ 350.00
Senior Single Membership $ 300.00
Cart Shed Rental $ 200.00
Green Fees $ 15.00
Those persons in the 18 new cart sheds will not be assessed the $50.00 increase in cart shed space until their existing Contract expires in April, 2010.
The membership also discussed the need to keep all unnecessary vehicles off of the cart paths. It was generally decided that the only vehicles allowed on the cart paths are golf carts, the porta potty truck, and the brown flatbed truck used for golf course maintenance. If you are in your vehicle and have business on the golf course, you will need to get in your golf cart and drive it out to take care of such business.
Implementing the 90 degree rule was also discussed. We would appreciate everyone adhering to the 90 degree rule as much as possible in light of the poor shape our cart paths are in at the present. We have plans to get a lot of gravel hauled in to the golf course over the winter, and hopefully see good improvement in the cart paths by the spring.
Various problems with the sewer pond were discussed, including the waterdog problem. Brent Nichols has talked with Donnie Jenkins about installing a screen at the city site to prevent the waterdogs from coming into our pipes, and then into our pond. Brent will continue to work with Donnie on this problem.
A 1986 suburban has been donated to the golf course for use in transporting the inmates to and from the work center. The golf course has obtained liability and medical insurance at a cost of $303.00 per year. In addition, the inmates also have insurance coverage thru the Work Center.
