2002 ANNUAL MEETING SUMMARY

The annual meeting for the Pioneer Park Association took place on December 11, 2002 at the First Security Bank’s Cimarron Room.  There were several members present and a lot of good ideas and decisions were reached.  Please find these listed below:

Ø      Board of Directors for 2003

President – Jessie Bryer

Vice-President – Oscar Cano

Sec/Treas – Bill Greenfield

Past President – Randy Kennedy

Members at Large – Alan Newman, Gregg Weber, Tim McFarland

Tournament Chairman – Roger Hester

Women’s President – Jane Hoover

Ø      The membership voted to increase the annual cart shed rental from $125.00 per year to $150.00 per year, and to institute a trail fee.  Members who do not have a cart shed space will need to pay a $25.00 per year trail fee.  Non-members will have a $2.00 trail fee per 18 holes.

Ø      It was decided to build an add on to the maintenance building for the inmates to use, which will get them out of the clubhouse, with a $6,000.00 limit.  (At the last board of director’s meeting, it was decided to add on to the Southwest corner of the public cart shed instead, as it will be cheaper.)

Ø      The membership at the meeting voted to make the club house a “No Smoking” facility.

Ø      Darrell Looper was elected Chairman of The Bag Club’s Membership/Bash, and stated that he would get Glen Love to help Co-Chair.  It was discussed how important this Bash has been to the Golf Course in helping to get the entire course automated with sprinklers.  We should be in a position to finish this project this year.  This year’s BASH will be held on Monday April 14, 2003 at 6:30 PM at the Beaver County Fairgrounds, everyone’s participation is needed.

Ø      Darrell Looper was also given permission to move ahead and come up with some plans for a new clubhouse or expanding the existing clubhouse, and to report back to the board of directors.

Ø      Troy Bowles was elected as chairman and to pick his committee that will concrete some of the cart trails and around the tee boxes, and to report back to the board of directors.

Ø      It was also decided instead of roping around the greens to keep people from parking too close, that the course would purchase some “NO CARTS” signs and put them in front of the greens.  Hopefully, this will direct player’s carts away from the greens and to the cart paths.  These have been ordered and are now in place.

Ø      Be sure to mark your calendars: Couple’s Night will begin on Monday April 7, 2003, Tuesday Night Scrambles will begin on Tuesday April 8, 2003, and Men’s Night will begin on Thursday April 10, 2003.  The first couple of weeks we will need to tee off by 5:30 PM, and as the nights get longer, we will move to a 6:00 PM tee time.  If you intend to play, PLEASE be early!!!

Ø      Since the Annual Meeting several board members and the majority of the membership approved the above logo for use at the golf course.

Respectfully Submitted,

Bill Greenfield --- Sec/Treas
